This weekend  we are feeling devilish and are wearing our Bruce's She Devil hats.  We are bringing you the weekend from Hell...Hellboy, that is. 




    

Hellboy is based on the comic character and despite his name, HB is the good guy/hero. Ron Perlman in the role of HB was fantastic and he'll be back reprising the role in Hellboy 2.

For heroic roles, an actor must have charisma, presence and an aura of commanding authority. Mr. Perlman displayed all this in his role as HB. Bruce knows very well how to project intensity, power and authority. Therefore, we think Ron and Bruce would make a great dynamic duo in the fight for good!

Ron Perlman was 53 at the time Hellboy was made in 2004. He became the oldest actor ever to play a major superhero! And he's back a second time and we are looking forward to it - and we sure would love to see Bruce amongst the scenery too!

This just further proves the statement, "you don't get older, you get better"!

Giving you more HELL, we have the article on Hellborn/Asylum of the Damned from Fangoria # 219.  It includes a number of comments by Bruce.

The author of the article describes this movie as "Alien meets One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and it's an apt appraisal.  We describe it as Psycho meets The Snake Pit.*   This  film giving new meaning to several DSM** categories, including Schizotypal Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and  Paranoia.  Whew! 











* The Snake Pit was a 1948 film set in a state insane asylum. The main character is kept in a state of misery by the atmosphere of  fear, ignorance and regimentation in the institution--the Snake Pit.
** The DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) --the guidebook used by psychologists and psychiatrists to diagnose mental problems.
