Expanding our

"Our
fantasy magazine cover" by Israfel
"The Buccaneer" by Israfel
2008
OK,
Bruce's Angels is officially FOUR years old today!! Though
we have been celebrating since Saturday, we have one more treat as our GRAND
FINALE.
We've put our new "Secret Agent Man' video on You Tube (to
avoid the long download time for videos). This makes our 17th video on
You Tube (and more to come...)! If you haven't yet seen this one,
you don't want to miss it. As we said below, it's our best one so
far. Qamiel, who majored in communications in college, has
experience editing videos and it shows, and Israfel, our Photos
Manager, did a terrific job of selecting pics to match the lyrics of
"Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers. The result is a exciting,
fast-paced video that showcases Bruce/Jurgen in a
gorgeous collage from La
Femme Nikita. BTW,
our You
Tube videos from
La Femme Nikita are
very popular;
we
expect this one to start getting lots of hits right away too.
This video is terrific! Really!! Don't miss it!!!

We've
come a long way since that day four years ago when we had only a few
photos and even fewer skills. What fun it's been learning new
ones! We
look forward to learning even more skills and continuing to bring Bruce
fans
new treats and updates in the years to come. Let's toast one more
time to our inspiration:
April 26: IT'S TIME, YES,IT'S
TIME...WE'RE CELEBRATING FOUR YEARS FOR BRUCE'S ANGELS! AND WE'VE LOVED
EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! We're starting a
little early (May 1 is the official date) so we can have more time to
celebrate! And have we got a spectacular show for you!
Qamiel and Israfel pulled out all the stops and prepared two animated
shows for your viewing emjoyment that are SIMPLY STUNNING (as the
webmaster and not the one who designed them, I can brag on them a
bit). The first page features a scrolling slide show titled
BRUCE PAYNE: A CELEBRATION THROUGH THE YEARS with one pic from every
Bruce film and TV show that we have PLUS music by Kool and the Gang
singing "Celebrate"! But wait, there's more...the second page,
our Grand Finale, is a music video slide show featuring our favorite
hero Jurgen in SECRET AGENT MAN, complete with the Johnny Rivers
song. This is far and away the BEST VIDEO we have done, no
kidding. Qamiel lend his editing know-how and Israfel matched the
pics with the music perfectly! We've come a long way since our
first day four years ago. Our opening was sincere but to be perfectly
honest, kinda pitiful. But no more! We have honed our skills,
getting better and better each year. And for what better cause
than the talented, handsome Mr. Bruce Payne!!

25: The
praise for Brothel just keeps
rolling in. Here's another positive review from the 2008 Annual Sedona
Film festival. Calling
Brothel a film that " connects
emotions, art, and heritage," Deb Bentlage
Curator, PhippenMuseum,
writes “This
visual treat for the eyes and soul stirred so many emotions and
memories in me about love and loss that it was painful to watch at
times..." but, she continues, it provides "... an
opportunity to appreciate the artistry of the
filmmakers involved.”For the full review, click
here. We are really looking forward to seeing it.
Our German angel Steffi has sent
us a beautiful Never Mind graphic; we've posted it on the NSNM
Wallpaper page. Click here for the Never Mind (aka Never Say Never
Mind) wallpaper page.
This page won't make us blue...
April
19: Last week we "ripped" your heart
out; this week we'll "steal" your heart with pics from Riders aka Steal. First we assembled two sets of
audio/video clips from the film with some of the more interesting
scenes (including the one we can't quote on a G-rated update page ). We put the clips on the Riders page and the audio/video page as
well as You Tube. To go along with this theme, we have also
placed Riders pics on yet another online photo
gallery--MyPhotoAlbum. There's a slide show there too.
Click here for the first Riders clip on You Tube

April 18:
We’ve
found another positive review of Brothel at the
14th Annual Sedona International Film festival. This one is
written
by David Kanowsky, Kudos Movie Critic for verdenews.com. He
writes: “Here are a few of the films that I think are
worth noting… Brothel, Amy
Waddell's film, is about a young loving couple. The
husband owns a house in Jerome (yes, our Jerome) that once was a
brothel but is
now abandoned. Strangely, he commits suicide. The wife, Julianne, is
trying to
come to terms with her loss…Brothel
does not fear nor try to break down the boundary between real and
fantasy. It
simply ignores the boundary. And we are drawn into Julianne's
experience…It is
a very fine ghost story without horror. Julianne harbors an inner hope
that she
can find her husband here among the ghosts - or is she really one of
them?”For the full text of review, click
here.
And here's another screensaver
request, this time from Paige (aka giveupfaith). She's a big fan of
Jacob Kell. She picked out her favorites and you can see them by
clicking below. Can't have too may Kell screensavers, in our
opinion. Kell, no...oh ouch...
April 12: Want to have your
heart "ripped" out? Check out the behind-the-scene Ripper audio/video clips we just
posted. Bruce comments on the film, talking about why women like
scary movies but why the film is more than just a scary movie. If
you thought the behind-the-scenes pics we already had posted were
yummy, wait till you see how adorable (forgive us) he is in this
videotaped interview. No Rane, no Damodar--this is Bruce Payne. Click
here for the Ripper clips
Speaking of audio/video clips, we have branched out with oru You Tube
videos. All the previous ones were stills set to music. Now we
have a Jurgen video consisting of key scenes from the 3 episodes of La Femme Nikita featuring
Bruce. Number 16! We'll be getting new equipment soon and
plan to bring you more new and improved clips on YT. We have also
placed the link on our Jurgen page.
And we're not done talking about
Bruce videos yet!! The IMDb has a new feature --it is now linking
to You Tube trailers for films the actor has been in. There's 15 listed
for Bruce. Not all of them actually have Bruce in the trailer. We
have made our way through and can tell you so that The Apocalypse (the first one), D&D1 (with the wrong name first
time it's listed--it's inexplicably called "Field of Dreams" but has
the right name later on) and
Passenger 57 are all well worth watching! A few are repeats and
some don't have Bruce or only have one scene with him. You can check
them out at
April 7:
Encouraging
news for those eagerly awaiting The Brothel (we sure are!). It was recently shown
at
the 2008 Sedona Film festival according to www.movingpicturesmagazine.com/ Rae Ann Marsh, author of the
story about the festival, referred to The Brothel as “an exquisite art film.” We
are hoping this exposure will help get the
film distributed. Click for a description of the film and
link to The
Brothel web site
April 5: As
promised, we have new material from Verbatim
magazine. Mr. John Mosby, the writer, has graciously given us
permission to reprint a sample of the pics and material about Bruce.
We
are starting a new feature this week. Fans who would like a special
screensaver made from their favorite pics can send their requests,
along with the jpgs (or photo numbers) and we'll make it into a
screensaver. We already have a request from Kayleigh (who told us
she would like to see a Warlock
screensaver and that inspired us). You can see the first fan request
screensaver by clicking below. That inspired Israfel to "take a
walk on the dark side" and create the collage above (it will be moved
to the Warlock page soon).
April 4: Branching
out once again, we have placed a set of photos on yet another public
online gallery. This time it's Bravenet and we have two
galleries: one with the Bruce publicity photos and one with pics fron
the film
Silence Like
Glass. Because it's
on Bravenet, we decided to showcase his hero roles in a gallery titled
"Bruce the Brave. click here
April
1: We couldn't resist...the Devil
made us do it...a new Jokester/April Foolery page. It includes
links to some of Bruce's behind-the-scenes hijinks, as well as our
previous parody "April Foolery," As we note on our Jokester page,
having a gentle, self-deprecating sense of humor is said to be a sign
of a healthy personality. That works for us...
March
29: We
have a message for you...It's time for the April Movie of the Month.
Have you guessed? It's Messages,
the psychological suspense thriller. We have a new music
slide show video titled "Messages: The Puzzle," with a haunting musical
piece appropriately titled "Interloper." It's our 15th video on
You Tube! Our calendar queen Sofia has really outdone herself
with this calendar page; it may be her best! And Ariel has
revised and expanded her review of the film. We like this film
(Ariel wishes she could tell you why it is true to the profile of a
serial killer but that would be telling...) and hope US fans will have
a chance to view it soon. If you missed our showcase of Messages the first time, the Movie
of the Month page has links to all the various Messages pages (main page, review,
wallpapers, calendar, etc)
March 27: We're
still waiting to hear about the release of The Brothel. In the
meantime, here's a bit more information about the movie--an audio/video
clip of the writer/director/producer Amy Waddell talking about the
film.
March
22: First Myspace, then Facebook and now
Flickr...we are posting Bruce photos on every
public gallery we can find...we think his face should be all over the
Internet, not that we're biased...So naturally we couldn't resist...we
started with pics of Flikker from Absolute Beginners. You don't think we'd miss an
opportunity for a good pun, do you? So we now present Flikker on
Flickr...
And we're still in a Highlander
mood around here...Israfel did another HEG graphic--see above.
Speaking of graphics, our Calendar Queen Sofia has branched out to
graphics and has a new Domitian graphic on her domain: Bruce Payne Rules Click
here
March 20: Today
is the Vernal Equinox. The Celts celebrated all the changes of
the seasons and so do we. Which brings us back to Jacob
Kell...though it doesn't take much to lead us back there
...On the Highlander message board we mentioned below, we found John
Mosby, a writer who has interviewed Bruce several times and has nice
things to say about him. Says Mosby: "
I've spoken with Bruce a number of times and he's always been huge fun
to interview. He did a whole photo-shoot for my Verbatim/Impact
articles when he really had better things to do on set. He's one of
those actors who gives a 'big' performance on screen, but is very much
a thoughtful guy off screen. " Thank you,
Mr. Mosby, for permission to reprint this quote. Watch for more from
that Verbatim magazine he
mentioned soon...

here for info about the Celtic celebration of spring and more pics of
Jacob Kell
March 15: THE
COUNTDOWN BEGINS...We are fast approaching our FOURTH
ANNIVERSARY so we are starting the countdown now! See our
countdown
button above. We'll have some VERY special treats for Bruce fans
on this May 1. But today's first special treat is the fantasy
magazine cover created by Israfel. See above. Don't we wish...
Well, we think Bruce belongs on a magazine
cover...
Meanwhile, speaking of holidays,
Israfel has created a St. Patrick's Day page that includes
a hilarious photostory called "Highlander Hijinks" with
behind-the-scenes pics from the HEG DVD of Bruce cutting up and mugging
for the camera. This is a really
different facet of Jacob Kell, to say the least! In the first
part, he plays "sword guitar" while singing "La Bamba" (though we added
a traditional Irish song from Dongas Tribe for our soundtrack). Then Bruce cuts up
behind the director's (oblivious) back. Finally he horses around
with Adrian Paul. Bruce's ever-changing expressions are a real
hoot! This is a side of Bruce you've never seen in any of his
movies. Have fun!
You won't find any green beer or leprechauns (but maybe a few green angels) by clicking here but you will find
gorgeous (always) pics of Bruce having a rip-snorting good time..
And now speaking, this time, of Highlander:
Endgame, we've discovered a kool
HEG discussion board ("Official Highlander Message Board" is
its name) and one of the topics is Bruce Payne. Someone there has
found our HEG Impact magazine
article page and wow, did the folks there flock to it! Glad they
found us... There's also another topic called "Highlander:
Endgame."
Click here for the Bruce/HEG page link
March 8: When
it comes to H.P. Lovecraft films, Necronomicon
is "dead" on...We love "The Drowned," the story that Bruce is
in, and so we went back for another round of pics. This new page has
113 delicious photos and that's no fish story!
One of the places for photos on the Web
is Photobucket. We found only ONE pic of Bruce
(from
La Femme Nikita) there
but we remedied that quickly enough!! There are now 260 pics of
Bruce from LFN! And we'll be putting up pics from other films
soon... Click to go to directly to the NEW
LFN photo album on Photobucket.
NEW on Facebook: A movie
trivia quiz for the faithful fans. Test your knowledge of quotes
from Bruce movies. Ariel and Israfel got a perfect 10 but hey, that's
cheating... Click the Facebook
icon.
March 1: Time
for our Movie of the Month again. This time it's a "golden oldie"--an
episode from 1984 of The Bill, a
British TV show, and what a cutie Bruce is in this program too. Click
below for the calendar, collages on the new wallpaper page. and a
photostory as well as the photo gallery. One Bill we don't mind paying...
click
here for the photostory
Update on The Book: The new
starting date for filming is Oct 2008 and the projected release date is
late June 2009. Bruce is still listed as "in talks."
And stay tuned for another Bruce photo gallery online someplace NEW
soon...
February 23: H.P. Lovecraft is one of our favorite
authors, much creepier than Stephen King, but hard to translate into
film. This version of Lovecraft's Necronomicon
succeeds better than most, partly due to Bruce's suberb portrayal of
the tortured and guilt-ridden Edward DeLapoer. Even other
reviewers less biased than we find Bruce's performance compelling (see
review link at bottom of our Necronomicon page). So we are
pleased to announce that we have 70 new pics of Bruce from the film in
our new Necronomicon photo
gallery. And there's more on the way!
We are busy spiffing up our Facebook and MySpace pages. On the
MySpace page, we have added a new colorful kaleidoscope slide show of
photos from Bruce's film and TV appearances. Israfel, our Angel
of Music, has added a music play list that include pieces from Bruce's
films -- "Absolute Beginners" by David Bowie, "Great Balls of Fire" by
Jerry Lee Lewis (also in AB), the Highlander:
Endgame theme "Bonny Portmore," and "Moonlight Sonata" by
Beethoven (used in One Man's Justice) as well as
other music spanning classical to classic rock. As those of you
who have visited MySpace know, pages can have "friend" icons
links to other pages. So far, our friends include Justin Whalin
and Thora Birch from D&D, fan sites for Adrian Paul and David
Bowie, and musicians Hoobastank, Nickelback and the Red Hot Chili
Peppers. click
here for MySpace; membership not required for top level but is for
photo gallery
On our new Facebook page, we have the same slide show and play list,
and a photo gallery of 46 pictures, one from each Bruce film/TV show
for which we have photos, plus several publicity photos. We also have a
similar photo gallery on the My Space page. Both pages also
include 3 of our videos from You Tube. Other links on
Facebook include an already ongoing Bruce Payne fan group. This group
was started by Nicole B, who is a big fan of Bruce's. She has
made us a welcome part of the group. Things are really rolling
along and more to come... Click
here for Facebook; membership is required to see the above. You can
register on the linked page.
February
16:
Since we have one of THE major Dungeons
& Dragons fan pages, we are pleased to announce that we now
have a copy of one of the original D&D1 Press Kits. In
addition to 10 publicity photos of various characters, it includes a
complete list of opening credits and
cast, explanations about the film which is derived from the role
playing
game Dungeons and Dragons.
It also contains 8 pages about the production of the film, i.e., the
work
behind
bringing the film to
the screen, explanations of how each character in the film was to be
portrayed, various famous places in Prague where the movie was filmed,
comments from cast members on their particular
character and background information about the major cast
members. We pulled out several of Bruce's comments for the Intro
page.
We are also pleased to announce that we now have a page on Facebook.
We'll be expanding it soon. However you have to be a member of Facebook
to view it. Click below. You can register on that page.
Our German Angel Steffi has
sent us a kool graphic for Riders
aka Steal. We placed
it on the Riders page and on
Steffi's fan art page. Click here to be
taken for a ride...
February 14: Our angel Steffi has sent
us and Bruce fans a sweet (but not
too sweet) Valentine (hey, after yesterday, we needed
that.
). To read the poem, click below for the larger version with
readable text. There are also links to previous Valentine pages.
BA
Valentine pages over the years
February 13: As
promised. we are bringing you our Valentine Special. Don't expect
hearts and flowers from this
video, well, except maybe for bruised and battered hearts...It's our
musical version of "Dark Love" with pics (some of them NEW to our site)
from Paranoia 1.0, Ripper, Full
Eclipse, Warlock III,Cisco
Kid, Highlander: Endgame and Switch
withmusic by Advent
Sleep (SO appropriate for Bruce movies...). Plus some weird and outre
graphics by Ariel. Instead of the conventional "roses are red, violets
are blue" kind of stuff, this "valentine" is more like "hearts are
black, bruises are blue; if you don't like my advances, tough for
you..."
Click here for Dark Love. The You Tube video is at the bottom of
the page.
You can download it from our Music Video page by...
clicking here
February 9: Check out our new rotating Bruce's
Angels logos above. It includes four by Israfel, one by CMoon and
one by Angelique. Also see above a new BA logo by Israfel featuring a new
pic of Jacob Kell. We'll add it to the rotating set soon.
We have also added easy access buttons above taking you straight to all
the Bruce You Tube videos and to the BA MySpace page.
And speaking of Kell, we have a NEW (well, new to our site) Bruce
interview from Impact
magazine 2001 about the making of Highlander:
Endgame. The page has a a beautiful background by Sofia.
To accompany our new article, we also have six new pics of
Bruce as Kell that are only in the trailer, not in the film. Kell
yes, you'll love these photos. A real Kell of a weekend from
Kell's Belles...OK, we'll stop with the puns already... Click
here for the new Impact
magazine intervew and new Kell pics
And watch for our Valentine Special on Feb. 14: the musical video
version of "Dark Love."
GOOD NEWS for people in DVD Region 2(Japan, Europe,
Middle East and South Africa): According to CDJapan.com, Never
Say Never Mind will be released April 4, 2008 on DVD. However it
is unclear whether this is the authorized edition that is being sold on
swedishbikiniteam.com
February 2:
As is our "tradition," instead of a Movie of the Month for February, we
have a "Valentine" theme instead. This year's theme is "Dark
Love"...well, not exactly love and it's not really romance...more like
sexual encounter...and a bit perverted at that...Hey, no syrupy, gooey
Valentine stuff here! Click below for Israfel's darkly handsome
graphics, Ariel's morbidly arch (perhaps even droll) commentary and
Sofia's red (or is that black) hot calendar, to say nothing of hot
pics of Bruce!
And
this is just the first part of our Valentine presentation. We'll have
more on Valentine's Day...a music video to go with our theme.
We also have a NEW special rare
treat for fans today, one that seems ever so appropriate to our theme,
if you get our drift here: The article "Pleasure and Payne" from Impact magazine, April 2001.
Bruce has lots of kool, interesting things to say.
And just to wrap it up, check out the NEW Bruce's Angels logo
above. Does it look a bit familiar? It should. It's
derived from the original Charlie's Angels logo.
January 26: We're
not ready to "ride" off into the sunset yet with the Riders aka Steal movie. We have 95 more pics in
our Riders photo gallery, Part 2 (and another
stunning background), thanks to our most diligent and talented photos
manager and background artiste,
Israfel. But wait,
there's more, as they say
in late night TV commercials...We also have 26 behind-the-scenes photos
too. All available to you in our special offer...FREE. (Oops, sorry too many of
those late night ads...).
With LOTS of help from our
cherub-in-training Devecia, we have added a slide show montage of many
of Bruce's films to the Bruces Angels MySpace page. [The kids are
better at some of this new-fangled stuff than us older folks.
] We also added music. The song is one of our favorites:
"If Everyone Cared" by Nickleback. You can check it all out by
clicking below. You don't have to be a member to see it.
January 19: EBay has been kind to
us--we have another FANTASTIC publicity photo of Bruce from Billy the Kid and the Green Baize
Vampire. The combo of incredibly photogenic actor and
really talented photographer is DYNAMITE! We're talking sultry
and sexy here... Click
here for a photo that will make you forget what.....now what were we're
saying?....
Next we have something that will "steal" your heart and "ride" off with
it.... Yes, we 're talking about Riders aka Steal. [OK so we like bad
jokes...so sue us.. ] A delicious
photo gallery with 95 pics of our favorite sexist pig Detective Jake
Magruder. "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man".. and Bruce in
a pin-stipe suit definitely qualifies! This is only Part I, more to come
next week plus other treats... PLUS
not to mention, a wallpaper page Click here
Ariel was in fine form with her tongue-in-cheek satiric commentary
about the Smart-Dressed Sexist Pig and the Blonde Detective with her
Skirt Up to There and Legs Down to Here ...if you didn't catch it the
first time around, you can click below:
January 12: We have a brand new treat
for Bruce fans--a publicity photo from the 80s and does he look
fabulous! Israfel has made a stunning background that does
justice to this fantastic photo. Click here
And we're back for more with Mr.
Bluephotos --a second photo gallery with
110 additional photos! And on the gallery page, we reveal a
secret about Bruce's role in Never Mind. Let's just say that Bruce
gets to show some emotions after all.... for Mr. Blue Photo Gallery 2
We also have the second set of videos from Never Mind with further clues to
the secret in this film...to say nothing of Mr. Blue's sinuous, sexy,
smooth as silk voice... We could listen over and over again...
January 5: HAPPY NEW YEAR to all Bruce fans!! We're still
in a Blue mood-- Mr. Blue, that is. And Mr. Blue doesn't make us
a bit blue. Israfel has created a sumptious repast of Mr. Blue
photos. That's right, they are good enough to eat! Mr.
Blue is definitely Cordon Bleu quality! Check out the photo
gallery page with 115 pics (and only the first of TWO!) and the
audio/video clips. We're doing the video clips a bit different
this year--there are 7 clips rolled into one--almost like a
mini-movie. There'll be more video clips next week along
with more luscious photos. We also have 4 graphics on the wallpaper
page.
The taciturn Mr. Blue is quite a different role for Bruce. In
most of his roles, he projects a great deal of emotion and
tension. Even Charles Rane, though stony-faced, projects cruelty
and narcissism. Bruce had to dampen his usual panache to play the
emotionally challenged Mr. Blue. It seems to us that it's harder
to play flat affect than a straightforward emotion. But Bruce,
talented actor that he is, rose to the occasion and is brillant as Mr.
Blue. Not that we are biased or anything... Mr. Blue
definitely brings a touch of class to this film...
AND LATE-BREAKING BULLETIN: According to the IMDb, Carmen's Kiss is in
post-production! It's scheduled for release in 2008.
