NEWS: A bit of news: The film Burce finished recently in Bulgaria is
now in post-production and the title has been changed to "Prowl."
Probably translates better than "Dead Ahead," which is a great play on
words in English but may not work in other languages.
December 1: This
holiday season begins with a beautiful calendar created by Sofia with a
graphic from CMoon. It's even more beautiful than the November birthday
one. It certaily does have that "magic" touch. Click here for the holiday calendar
On a less festive note, we found an article on Yahoo a while back,
noting that Osama bin Laden was an "austere father who banned toys...at
home"--this pretty much creeped us out, recalling Charles Rane's
comment in Passenger 57. His
father wouldn't allow toys either and look how he turned out...OK, we
know P57 was only fiction, but our resident psychologist (Ariel) notes
that this is easily how an authoritarian personality begins...but
enough of politics. Pardon us for mentioning it but the parallel
was just too striking not to bring up.
November 22:

And Happy Birthday to our lucky Byzantina whose birthday is the same as Bruce's!!
November 7: It's Israfel's birthdayand we have a nice present for her: News about one of Bruce's new movies: Dance Star
(the musical!) has now completed post-production and is scheduled for
official release in the U.K. on Feb. 9, 2010; Berlin in Feb. at the
Berlin Film Market; and USA on Mar. 7 (limited). We're really looking
forward to this one! We want to see if he sings in this one like he did in Billy the Kid and the Green Baize Vampire.
November 3: It's Bruce's Birthday Month
and we have a calendar that celebrates it in style! Sofia brought out
all the fireworks for this occasion. The photo she used was one of the
ones taken in September by our new Bulgarian friend, Svetlio. Click here
AND here's another birthday treat: We found a clever review of Passenger 57 by Marcus Trower, writing for Empire magazine. Here's an excerpt:
"…Payne a brilliantly disconcerting madman. With his flowing
blond Jesus locks, armour-piercing stare and casual sadism, he makes Hannibal
Lecter look like a social worker - and like Sir Anthony Hopkins' serial killer,
part of the man's menace is in the apparent contradiction between his
articulate, well-spoken English and his off-hand brutality."
October 30: As
promised, we have a Halloween treat for you. We've got a delightfully
silly animation for you: "The Monster Mash," starring Bruce as all the
monsters, Israfel as the Doctor, and Ariel as Bride of Frankenstein.
This one is best viewed in Explorer.
Those who haven't seen our previous Halloween presentations can click here for lots of spooky videos and special effects.
PLUS--and this part isn't the least bit scary--we have two more pics of
Bruce taken on September 22. These are courtesy of Svetlio, pictured
above in the two lower photos. We LOVE the one on the right!
October 25: Have we got a hot news tip for you!! We have pics of Bruce from last month!
See above! He just finished a new movie with the working title "Dead
Ahead." The film is a Nu Image production filmed in Sofia
Bulgaria. It's a horror film with zombies. According to Tzvetislav, pictured
above with Bruce, the film also stars Scott Adkins, who is a martial
arts star, and Roger Cross. Director is Mike Hurst; Bruce plays Winston. That's all we know so far. Stay tuned for more info as we find it ...
Thanks to our super-sleuth Devicia, who found the photos on MySpace, and thanks to Tzvetislav for permission to use his photos. Click here for the link to more photos of more actors. He works in the movie industry so gets his pic taken with lots of kool people.
We have one more Halloween surprise coming later this week so do drop in again...
October 2: Howl
are you? (bad pun intended) Yes, that's right--it's our favorite
month of the year--Halloween time! So right for Bruce's
characters. Our Calendar Queen Sofia is back in action with an
eerie-kool calendar that embodies the spirit of this "holiday" time
perfectly. We'll be back later in the month with more Halloween
treats...or tricks.
August 31: It's
back-to-school time so we thought we would bring you an after-school
special--a month (calendar-wise) with your favorite professor--Marshal
Kane--if you dare...be careful, he'll r-i-i-p your heart out... Click here for the September Calendar (from Ripper)
Meanwhile, after a hard day at
school or work, how about a little quickie...with some Bruce movie
trailers. If you haven't already seen them, go to the Bruce page
on the IMDb and click away. They claim 13 videos but they lie. A
couple have nothing to do with Bruce but the here's the ones to check
out: "All That Glitters" (it's the whole Dragnet episode but Bruce doesn't appear till the last 10 minutes), The Apocalypse (half of the trailer!), Dungeons and Dragons I (6 scenes), Passenger 57, and brief scenes in Switch and Cleopatra. Forget the rest and replay TheApocalypse trailer...Hallelujah, All Hail the Temple of the God Domitian...
August 8: LATEST NEWS ON BRUCE MOVIES...The post-production of Carmen's Kiss was completed in July but a release date has not been announced. Dance Star is in post-production and Greenway is announcing a release date of Dec. 23, 2009. Click here for the film web site. Disturbance is in post-production and is scheduled to be released in 2010. These
dates may change. But rest assured, as soon as a DVD is available in
the UK, we will bring you photos and info on how to get the DVD.
August 5: OK,
it's a bit late but worth the wait...Our August calendar features one
of our favorite Bruce pics in striking black, gray and white...a
cooldown for the hot, hot summer. AND
we have a new video treat from our Brazilian fan Laila. It's called
"Bruce Payne Is Loved" We can agree with that!! You can
check it out by clicking below.
July 3: This
month's calendar is brought to you by Israfel. In honor of the July
summer sun, we have chosen Bruce as the desert rat Dogger from Solar Babies. He's dirty, scrungy, smelly but we still think he's cute...
In a review of a video game atBlend Games,William Usher compared the voice-actor for the game, David Sobolov, to Bruce and Christopher Lee: " In other words, Davidis to
voice-acting what Christopher Lee (or Bruce Payne) is to evil-character
movie-acting. Yeah, he’s that good."
Now there's a man with
taste and sense! We think Bruce is every bit as good as Lee at
these kinds of roles and a whole lot better looking too.
June 5: Calendar
Queen Sofia has been a bit under the weather so we are late with the
June Calendar but here it is. It's got one of CMoon's kool kollages. Click here for the June Calendar
May 2: FIVE YEARS! Bruce's Angels is now celebrating our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY! How the time has flow!
And what a difference 5 years have made. From a few pitiful photos that
first month to a web site full of video clips, photo stories,
calendars, commentaries, artwork and many other goodies, to say nothing
of thousands of photos. We hope Bruce fans have enjoyed what all of us
here at Bruce's Angels have created. We thank you for visiting
us. Ariel and Israfel also want to extend their special thanks to
our angel colleagues who have helped us so much--CMoon, Sofia, Steffi,
Merlin, Qamiel and Devecia.
Though the pace has slowed down here, be assured that we will continue
to bring you Bruce news and, when available, photos and clips from new
Bruce films. From time to time, we will also bring you other special
features.
Meanwhile check out the new May calendar from Sofia. This month's theme is Cassius from Cleopatra, with thanks to Israfel's gorgeous collage. And
what a delicious theme that is. Bruce looks great in that Roman
armor and haircut. The real Cassius was either a hero or a
villain, depending on what you think of Julius Caesar--tyrant or savior
of the Republic? Pardon us for being biased but we're favoring
hero...
Click here for the May 2009 calendar
Also check the new Bruce video on YouTube from Brazilian fan Laila.
It's called Hymne a l'amour" ("Ode to Love") with music by Edith
Piaf.
April
2: We're a day late with the April but
don't let that "fool" you--any calendar from Sofia is worth waiting
for. Following our tradition of having comedies for the month of
April, we're featuring the Keen Eddie episode, "Horse Heir," in which
Bruce plays the droll bad guy Yellow. The asthmatic hood with the
inhaler has now becoming a "fixture" in film. It's been used in Casino Royale (Bruce would have been much more
menacing than that villain, who couldn't act either). It was also used
on the TV show Burn Notice ( a kool show). But as far as we
know, Bruce was the first, and naturally, we think, the funniest.
Click here for the April Calendar
Wait, there's more...Our friend Matt at Direct to DVD Connoisseur has
written a review of Paranoia 1.10. He
liked it, just as we did, though he's still unhappy with Bruce's accent
(which is, alas, not his wonderful English accent), But Matt did like
Bruce's portrayal, so pay the site a visit and check out
the other Bruce reviews if you missed them.
February 28: It's that Celtic time of year and our
Calendar Queen Sofia has made a beautiful Celtic Calendar for March
featuring our favorite Celt --Kell, Jacob Kell. The graphic of
Kell is by CMoon.
Click
for a Kell Celtic Calendar
We're going to have to slow down our update schedule--we're running
very low on new material--and we only want to do good updates. so we
won't be updating every week from now on. When there is
news about Bruce projects, we'll let you know. In the meantime,
our schedule will be intermittent.
February 21: We're all a-twitter... Israfel has
created a Twitter page for Bruce, using her favorite photo
of him. Twitter is a free Internet service
that lets you keep in touch with people
through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question:
What are you doing? Click below to see what we said. Celebrities who
have Twitter pages include William Shatner, Aston Kutcher and Demi
Moore, and chief executive of Zappo, Tony Hsieh.
And speaking of
Twitter, we're still all-a-twitter about
the new MUSICAL Dance
Starthat
Bruce is filming. We got so excited about it when we announced
it that we forgot that we do have
audio clips of Bruce singing. You can
check them out on our NEW All
the Other Guys Audio/Visual Page. Look
for these clips from Billy The Kid
and the Green Baize Vampire: "I'm the One Who's Gonna Take You
to the Top" and "White Lines, Black Cadillac." He has a strong tenor
voice that's perfect for musicals. We know Bruce is versatile and
multi-talented. Now more people will see it too!
And -- lest we
forget-- Bruce also sings in Absolute
Beginners. Click below to hear him belt out "Goodness gracious,
great balls of
fire" like Jerry Lee Lewis and on a burning
piano. What a scene!
February
14: Valentine's Day once again. Continuing this year's theme of bittersweet
love but just a little darker...We have a NEW film clip from Ripper: Letter From Hell...with
Bruce and A.J. Cook in a sensuous scene that will send shivers up and
down your spine. You can find it on our Valentine 2009 page.
And
speaking of Ripper,
IngeniousKat has posted clips on You Tube from Ripper recently. Lots of scenes of
Bruce and does he look h-o-t, h-o-t, h-o-t in this film..
Click here to see her Ripper clips
February
7: It's the 'sweetheart" month and we
have a sweetheart for you--Bruce as Peter Howles from Oxford
Blues. He's a
real cutie pie in this comedy from 1984. See the 5 audio/video
clips from this film on our NEW Audio/Video Funny Guys page. Come back
next week for a Valentine surprise...
February
1: Ah, February...the
month of romance and love...But at Bruce's Angels, that never means
schmaltz and gooey sentimentality. Sometimes it means downright
scary "Valentine" images (see previous years page icon below). But we
decided not to do the edgy stuff this year. Well, at least not
for the calendar...Instead we bring you bittersweet romanticism with
CMoon's heartbreakingly beautiful graphic of Bruce from Necromonicon made into a stunning
calendar by our ever-so-talented Calendar Queen Sofia. The poem,
which is readable if you print out the calendar, is a bittersweet
tribute to lost love (a theme in Necronomicon)
We'll have some other "Valentine" surprises for fans later in the
month. Maybe they won't be so sweet...

January 29:WOW, HOT OFF THE "PRESS" (the IMDb,
that is)...Just announced today--Bruce is filming a new movie called Dance Star and it's a
musical! Is that kool or what?! We've heard
his singing voice in Billy the Kid
and the Green Baize Vampire and it's very good. What a
treat this will be! The film is from Greenway, the same people who are
doing Bruce's other movie Disturbance (listed as "filming"). We are REALLY looking forward to all these
new movies because we've almost run out of material from his past
movies. (After all, we've been doing this for almost 5
years). We do have a few more audio clips in the pipeline
though...and maybe later, if we're able to pull it off technologically,
a clip of Bruce singing in BTKATGBV.
BTW if you haven't seen our Billy
the Kid page, here it is.
January
24:The Empire of Bruce Photo
Galleries expands...We have now placed photos on Friendster. Click on
the gorgeous new logo right here. And next week it'll be time for
a new calendar and is it beautiful! Very different from last
year's February calendar, very romantic if you can believe it...
January 17: More Bad Guys...and do we love them! More
Savak to be precise. Six more audio/video clips from One Man's
Justice have been added
to the Bad Guys page. We are also in the process of revising our
original audio/visual page. We've rearranged all the clips into
our 4 categories: Bad Guys, Good Guys, Funny Guys, and All the Other
Guys. Plus we've added a new rotating pic to jazz up the page.
Soon all the clips will move to their respective pages, making
it easier to find what you're looking for (and making the page take
less time to load). We'll also be working our way through the
rest of the films that we don't have clips from. check
out the new Savak clips here
Click here for the revised A/V page
January 10: Speaking of Savak,,,and we do
like to do so...that long, blond hair, oh my...we've put together some
audio/visual clips from One Man's
Justice aka One Tough
Bastard. Bruce is a reallybad guy in this one but
doesn't he look g-o-o-o-d. You can check out these yummy audio clips on
our BRAND NEW BAD GUYS AUDIO CLIPS PAGE! All the clips are now in
alphabetical order to make them easier to find. We'll have new pages
for the Good Guys, the Funny Guys, and All the Other Guys soon. Click
here for sizzling sinister Savak (under One Man's Justice)
For those of you who haven't seen The
Apocalypse...and for those who have...there's a trailer for it
on Bruce's page on the IMDb. By a fortunate stroke of fate, Bruce
as Domitian nearly dominates the trailer. Domitian proclaimed
himself a god and, after seeing Bruce as Domitian, we are tempted to
join that temple!
While you're at it, check out the Bruce Dragnet episode "All That
Glitters" in its entirety on Bruce's IMDb page. We announced that
last year but some of you may have missed it.
Click here for the trailer, Hallelujah!
If you've missed our Apocalypse page and Ariel's commentary, click here.
January 6: At last it's the 12th Day of Christmas.
That's it! Tina has had ir! Tommy just sent her Twelve
Killers (Cutting), She had to sic her lawyers on Tommy--the law firm of
Dewey, Cheetum and Howe. Now we're talking law suits and punitive
damages. Tommy is in REALLY big trouble!
OH-OH, here comes Covington, Rane, Savak, Flikker and the
others...
If you haven't been following the story of Tina's amazing gifts, start
this spoof at the beginning by clicking below. First look at the
"gifts," then click on the "email" correspondence to see Tina's first
gracious then increasingly annoyed response. Then click on the next day.
January
5: Oh-oh,
Tina is on the
warpath now! Tommy "Brainless Twit" Toomuch has just sent her
Eleven Psychos Slinking. No matter that several of them are
gorgeous, she is really seeing RED. She
is gathering her forces (Including Nikita, Jurgen, two of the three
Bonds and the two privates, to say nothing of the Uzis and
Kalishnikovs... ) to mount an assault on hapless witless Tommy... Rane,
Kell, McCort, Echo and Savak plus six other psychopaths, weirdos and
freaks show up...
To start
from the 1st Day, click here. You'll see the photos first, then click
on the "email" narrative link
January 4: Tina
is beyond mad now. She's livid! Well, you would be too if someone
send you Ten Vampires Vexing. Oh sure, one of them is a gorgeous
blond but still... Harker,
Dracula, Gary Dracula, Frank Dracula, George Dracula, Nosferatu and
Vlad rip up the place. The rest of the guests can't even send out
for pizza...
January 3: Now Tina Truefan is hopping mad.
You probably would be too if someone sent you Nine Werewolves
Wailing...Her alleged friend Tommy Toomuch is ...well, too much!
What's the DSM category for him?! Adam
Garou and a bunch of mangy critters merrily munch and mangle their way
throught the neighborhood...
Click here to start from the beginning of the "12 Days of Christmas
Bruce Style"
January 2: Have we all recovered
from the partying and celebrating? No? Neither have
we. Nonetheless, it's time for our 8th installment of the
wonderfully wacky (or dreadfully dumb, depending on your point of view ) "12 Days of Christmas Bruce Style" saga. Now Tina is really getting irked. The Eight
Romans Rushing are making a total mess of her house and they've run out
of food...
Cassius, Domitian, and other assorted
Roman emperors, plus Marcello and Sophia, arrive and run rampant...
January
1:
We wish
Bruce and all Bruce fans a wonderful new year full of hope, joy, and
promise. We look forward to Bruce's new films and will keep fans posted.
Meanwhile, in other breaking "news," Tina Truefan is getting a
bit upset at her friend Tommy Toomuch...The arrival of Seven Sailors
Swearing...oops, we mean Saluting, leads to consternation and depletion
of the liquor supply... Major
Baker looks on in amazement as Sinbad, Long John Silver and various
assorted unsavory sailors swear up a storm...
