We
started this web site over four years ago because we thought
Bruce Payne is one of the best and most charismatic actors in the
business. We still think so today in 2008. The fact that there are four
archived web sites and six currently being updated as well as three
others is testimony to Bruce Payne's popularity and power. It
isn't a matter of competition because each web site has its own unique
take on Bruce Payne. In our view, there is room for all of them
and we'd love to see more around the globe. You can find the other Bruce
Payne web sites in our Links section.
Here's our take on Bruce Payne.
We want to explore Bruce Payne,
the actor. We want to examine his
roles, discuss his talented portrayals, explain why we believe that he
is one of the best and most versatile actors in the world. We'll
investigate the many faces of Bruce Payne, including Hero, Villain, and
Comic Actor. And we're taking it all a
step further. We're not only going to talk about what Bruce Payne has
done, we're going to speculate about what Bruce Payne could do in the
future. We're going to discuss the kinds of future roles that his fans
would like to see him play. A proactive fan site, in other words.
See our Hero
Essay and our BA Forum for
some of these speculations.
Other than the now archived Bruce
as Bond site (of
which we as Bruce's Angels were a
part), we know of no other fan site of its kind. [See link below for an
explanation of our part in the Bruce as Bond project] The webmaster of Dr.
Shatterhand's Botanical Garden,
one of the James Bond sites, said
of
the BAB, “At the moment, I am not aware of any campaign (Internet
or not) of fans offering a forum to promote an actor for a role… your
idea is intriguing and perhaps original. There are other Bond sites
that have posted a list of potential actors who are in the running for
the role of Bond. But none have tried to promote them except by
saying, "John Doe would make a nice Bond." We are taking the
concept of the BAB one step further and promoting Bruce Payne for other
possible future roles, especially in the role of hero. We think
he makes a magnificent hero and we'll tell you why in The Hero section.
We invite your comments.
You can post comments in our Guestbook or
send us comments via e-mail.
You can
also join Bruce's
Angels Forum and discuss these
ideas and more with
other Bruce Payne fans.
We hope you find our essays
intriguing and our photos satisfying. If you aren't already a Bruce
Payne fan, we hope you'll be motivated to investigate his films
further. We think you'll find the films--and Bruce Payne--well worth
the
effort.
